the hotel was so dirty! mold was everywhere on the ceiling and the curtains! the duvet was so.old! everything in the hotel was disgusting! the beds were so old.they make sound with the slightest movement! stayed there for one night and then cancelled my reservation and moved to another hotel because the manager told.me he doesn't have a cleaner room.that he can move me.to and I'm.more than welcome to check out! The worst hotel I've ever been to! doesn't deserve to be called a hotel!

Not nearly enough staff to serve the needs of clientele. Breakfast line 45 minutes long.

At check in, the line stretched around ropes with a wait of well over an hour, so we tried the 'express check in kiosk' which did not work despite a Hotel employee's ability to find the reservation. We were sent to the manager's line, waited 35 minutes to check in, and were given keys to a room that was already occupied. We exited the occupied room immediately and used the hall phone to call management. No answer after 20 rings. Tried again, and we were sent back to the manager's line for another 30 minutes to get a new room assignment. Asked for an ice bucket the next day - in person at the desk because the phone went unanswered again, were told it would be 'sent right up' and it did not arrive within the 90 minute period we were in the room. When you go all the way to the lobby for a plastic ice bucket that should have been in the room in the first place, they should go get one and hand it to you.

Freshness and interior design.That we only had one night to enjoy this exquisite bed and breakfast. Everything else was perfect! The most comfortable bed and bedding ever in our travels! The fluffy towels and spotless everything. The space to live and move. The decor and design of the home. The fruit and homemade muffins ready to grab on entering or leaving the house. The slippers! And the to-die-for breakfast. A feast of cereals, juices, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, toast, jams, and 'Matt's special' on our day. Eggs Benedict perfectly poached and sauced, sitting on a bed of potato patty topped by a layer of freshly steamed spinach, complete with perfectly cooked sausages and bacon with seconds. Oh yes, and an endless cup of coffee! Just superb!

Great Area

The hotel is located in a great area, near the subway, Central Park, Lincoln Center, etc. There are great bars and restaurants options including hotel rooftop. However, it looks old but trying to be modern. It is decorated like the sixties, low lights and very tacky. The bedroom is tight, with an old air conditioning that you should be aware to check where the on-off button is before trying to look for it in the middle of the night! The bathroom was small, it looked renovated but the bathtub has some scratches. When I took a shower this morning, the water was warm, did not get hot at all, and I did use the faucet correctly. Also, the plug in the bathroom was not working, so I had to use the blow dryer in the bedroom. The beds were good. There was also a desk with a TV, a small wardrobe with iron and a mirror. Overall the room was clean. Next visit in the big city, I'll choose another option for sure, especially for the price they charge.

Polite Staff

Everytime I come to New York I stay at this hotel and I'm never disappointed. This time I came in with a group of friends for a festival in Brooklyn and by the time I got to the hotel it was late but the staff was extremely polite and accommodating. My room was very clean and for being in the center of New York City the noise is minimal. I find the prices to be beyond reasonable for the location. Luggage storage was absolutely necessary and wonderful. Counter folks helped printout when business office printer was down, making everything okay. Great personalities behind the counter. And the very best location around. Will stay there again, to say nothing of the best price within miles.

I did not spend a lot of time in the room, but the room was not very comfortable.

This hotel is in a great location and reasonably priced for the area. However, the rooms are not great. They are very outdated and need some serious work. The cleanliness is also a little questionable. It's not bad if you are not spending a lot of time in the room.

Only good for few hours of check in, not for night stay.

Room was pathetically small. No room service. Cleaning staff opened our door when we were inside without knocking or ringing a bell, directly walking in. Plug points were not working. Bath tub was leaking. No basic toothbrush or lotion was provided. Furniture is very big so there was no walking space around the bed. The door especially looks like a gas chamber, so we got extremely claustrophobic. Even the elevators were shaking and rickety.
