The boat is in a good location to visit The Eastside Gallery and has urban stations very close, as are cheap but very tasty places to eat. I walked into Alexander Platz in about 25 minutes, something that allowed me to take in the general ambiance of the residential parts of the city. The Boat is a little different from a traditional hotel, but thats what makes it so amazing. Breakfast is fine, but don't expect cooked breakfast. It’s an open buffet of cereals, cheeses, toast, tea, coffee and fruit juice that is fair value. Everything is clean and orderly, there is a bar and free WiFi too. The cozy cabin I had been very comfortable and welcoming. Yes the ensuite bathroom is small but this is a boat. Everything was as it should be, no bells and whistles, but just very good overall comfort and value for money. All the staff spoke perfect English and there is a 24 hour staff member on reception. I arrived quite late due to the heavy rain making the roads, slow going, but the reception member Oscar waited for me, having been made aware of my late arrival by phone. There is free car parking along the Eastside Gallery, but be aware that the places are very limited during the day, although most spaces are available at night. The hotel boat has no reserved parking, but this never caused concern. I found a place right outside the gantry and left my car there during the stay. Free of charge and SAFE. Should I return to Berlin I would certainly use this hotel boat again without hesitation. Overall, a very good choice! Not a city hotel, but a true part of my Berlin experience.
