This hotel is actually good value for money considering hotels in Barcelona are reasonably expensive. It was clearly an attempt at very cool design, but as we have found, carry through on concept is a common fault in Barcelona. I think the Catalan people are very design aware. So there are a lot of good ideas here. But things have not been well maintained, and maybe some of the ideas were not thought through so well to begin with. The shower could not be locked into place, and so sprayed water everywhere - we ended up having to use it hand held - we notified the hotel, but it was never addressed. That is a pity, as the staff were always friendly and as helpful as possible - it feels that there is some disconnect between reception and maintenance. The roof top bar is a really good location for a drink or a sun bake. But keep you drinks basic - I ordered a G&T and go a pink sweet thing - made with an honest effort to impress, but not anything a G&T drinker would actually want. Location it would be better to be more in towards the Gothic Quarter (maybe not actually in it) so more attractions could be within walking distance, but taxis are plentiful and reasonably cheap, and the metro is ok too. So I guess you get what you pay for.
