The staff team there are all very friendly and helpful and there is lots of flyers and posters in the foyer for anyone looking for things to do. There is a great little kitchen for guests to use but also has a 24hr bar and a morning breakfast buffet. The rooms and facilities are kept very clean, but as it's a hostel don't expect a maid service every day. Cleaners come around after someone else has checked out so there's no cleaning in between. I've seen that some other people expect a lot from this place such as things being cleaned every day, but it's a hostel so is not expected that. Even as a first time traveler, I knew not to expect that. The area is very safe and there are lots of local cafes, restaurants and bars to keep you busy if you want to stay local. Definitely check out the indoor market hall Arminiusmarkthalle which is on the next block. It's perfect for buying fresh groceries for dinner or for drinks and food from their many themed restaurants and bars.
